RAO Nordic belongs to Inter RAO Group, a diversified energy holding with generating assets in Russia, Europe and the CIS countries. The parent company of RAO Nordic and its 100% shareholder, PJSC “Inter RAO”, is Russia’s major energy export and import operator.
Established in the European Union as a trading subsidiary of PJSC Inter RAO to expand the parent company’s geographical presence and operations to the Nordic and Baltic countries, RAO Nordic has been the leading importer of electricity from Russia to the Nordic power market since its business operations began.
Cross-border energy trading has been the core business of RAO Nordic Oy from the very beginning. Nowadays, in addition to physical energy trading, RAO Nordic actively participates in the financial trading of electricity prices and related commodities on the NASDAQ commodity exchange and related OTC markets.
