‍The business strategy of RAO Nordic Oy was unchanged in 2018.

The focus remained on cross-border trading and business activities related to power interchange across the border connections between Russia and the Nordic countries. The main parts of RAO Nordic’s business operations in 2018 have been importing electricity from Russia and selling it to the Nordic electricity market in Finland and Norway.   

In 2018, RAO Nordic delivered a total of 7.5 TWh of physical electricity to the Nordic market (5.6 TWh in 2017). The gross sales figure was EUR 333 million (EUR 169 million in 2017), and the operating profit was EUR 3.9 million (the operating loss was EUR 0.8 million in 2017).
